Artist Statement

Award-winning mixed media artist Cathy Shugg paints and travels worldwide, undertaking artist residencies and other adventures to challenge and inspire her artmaking. Cathy’s plein air works on paper capture personally significant experiences of life and place on seven continents. These pieces then inspire larger scale explorations in paint, collage and mixed media in her Bowral studio. Cathy has participated in solo and group shows in Australia and Europe. Her art is held in private and corporate collections in Australasia, Europe, the UK and North America. She is a feature artist and teacher for organisations in Australia and overseas.
