Artist Statement

Painting has always been part of my life. Over time there have been changes in my practice aud it still is evolving. I've always been challenged to explore new ideas. Creating art from land and seascapes is absorbing but when memories of what I have seen in nature fades,. my instinct tells me to make art from my imagination. That's when art works develop from the way I see the brush strokes shaping and forming abstract ideas and imagery. There is a sense of freedom in abstract painting that encourages me to reveal and interpret the forms emerging on the canvas. I've had 3 solo exhibitions and regularly participated in group shows (1990-2020).
