Artist Statement

Martial Cosyn is an oil painter whose work radiates a sense of joy and whimsicality. He manages to capture the little pleasures of our everyday life. Martial is mostly self-taught which makes his work so refreshing and original. He paints from his garden studio in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and his work has attracted collectors locally and further afield. “I paint because the new painting is the beginning of an adventure full of promises an excitement”, he says. ‘My paintings reveal a part of myself which I cannot express with words.” Martial
