Sally Waterford

Artist Statement

I have a 20 year career as a clay sculptor, creating smallish sculptures of people or groups connecting in various ways. I try to capture a posture, an emotion, a fleeting feeling, a sense of connection. I have exhibited locally at BDAS, and the Foyer gallery Moss Vale, and out of area, at Meroogal and in the Arts in the Valley, selling pieces at these venues. I have done commissions, including 3 pieces for a Catholic high school in Sydney. This will be my 6th local art studio art trail entry. My studio or “glyptotheca” (place for keeping sculptures) is located in a beautiful garden, full of zany artistic experiments, and bricolage, a delight for adults and kids! To be Covid safe, many sculptures are exhibited around the garden and along the drive to allow spacial distancing. I have arrangements for those less mobile to access the garden and studio.
