About the event

Experienced artist and educator Libby Wakefield will guide participants through the development of a series of expressive landscape paintings. The morning will be spent exploring ways to interpret the landscape. Participants will develop confidence in responding intuitively to subject matter.

Libby has been making and teaching art for almost 20 years. The central focus of her work looks at ways in which she can depict the local landscape and wetlands through the lens of Romanticism, exploring themes of beauty and the sublime.

Libby has been a finalist in many art prizes including The Waverley Art Prize, The Fisher Ghost Art Awards, The Wingecarribee Landscape Prize, The Goulburn Art prize, The David Turnbull Bequest Prize, NSW Parliament Plein Air Prize, and highly commended in the Norvill Art Prize and the Belle Property Prize. She recently won the Blue Square Art Prize.

Libby is currently represented by Whitewall Art projects in Berrima and the Grainger Gallery in Canberra.

Spots are limited to 10 people a class. A minimum number of bookings are required for our classes to proceed. Please support our artists and creative program by booking your spot now.
