Studio Description
Alexander studied figurative sculpture under renowned Australian sculptor Tom Bass AM. She has produced numerous public commissions, working with clay to bronze. A tree change to her Highlands studio with surrounds of nature has inspired a series of ceramic organic forms. These cocoon-like sculptures include textural surfaces representing our humanity and connection to earth through lived experiences. ‘I hope to bring a feeling into my clay work, that may resonate with the viewer, to provide comfort, or guidance for our life journey’. Her recent series ‘Forest Walk’ is reflective of the light, sky, land and sea, streaming through the trees.
